Checking In!

Hello Wonderful Team!

I just wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing this month!  We are at the halfway point!  I know everyone is doing as much as they can and I just want to let you know I am here for any support you may need.

One great way to line up some vendor events is to call local churches and ask about their holiday fairs!  Most churches have some sort of craft fair this time of year.  Ten minutes on the phone can get you several events!  Try schools as well!

Spooky Notes for October!



Can you believe October is upon us?  September was a GREAT month!  Our Team sales were good and Conference was AMAZING!!!  I know next year will be even more incredible with many more artists attending!  Seriously, if you can set aside about $50 of your commission every month it will cover your Conference registration and flight.  Keep it in your Payquicker account and pretend it's not there!  Plus, you can write off those expenses on your taxes, so going to Conference is win-win!  DO IT!!!!!  I got SO much out of it.  It was more than a new product release.  It was a learning experience.  It was a soul-searching experience.  I came away understanding myself and the business and company so much more.  So really, make up your mind to go next year and go!  (Stepping off soap box now...)

Ok, October!~  Basically, there are 2 months until Christmas and less until Hanukkah!  That is a MAJOR selling point right now with both customers and potential recruits!  When you talk to people about SHD or post about joining your team, be sure and mention the approaching holidays and the potential for extra cash flow when they join.  Also, share the new products with enthusiasm!  I have a strong feeling our sales are going to be through the roof these next 10 weeks!!!

So, for our Team Incentive for October, anyone on my team with sales this month of $1000 or more will receive the new locket bracelet when it is released!



Also, don't forget about the Incentive Trip to Las Vegas!  Here is the document if you don't have it yet!  It would be so much fun to meet up there!!!

Fall Into Fun!

Wow!  September is flying by so fast!  I don't know about you, but it has been a crazy-busy month for me with school starting.  Of course for me my kids being back in school does not exactly free me up since I am a teacher.  <sigh>  BUT my business is still a major priority so I wanted to remind everyone of our September Hostess Special!



For my personal socials this month and next I am going to use the theme "Fall Into Fun"!  I am thinking of serving apple cider and spice muffins.  It's a good time to remind people that the holidays are approaching and now is the time to order their lockets for gifts!  You can even offer a free Christmas tree charm with a $50 purchase or something to that effect.  Or "buy 4 charms, get the 5th charm free".  These are great strategies for increasing your sales.  They cost you around $4 but gain you much more than that in commission from locket purchases.  

It is also a great time of year to recruit new team members, letting them know they can increase their income/holiday spending money by starting their business now!  It can take a little time to get a team started, so be patient and share your business as often as possible.

I am attending the South Hill Designs Conference in Phoenix later this week!  I am so excited to meet everyone in person and see the wonderful surprises the company has in store for us!  For those who cannot attend, I promise to keep you updated about the new products and announcements!  Again, next year let's ALL meet there!!!  (Wherever it may be!)

Let's Take September!






Woohoo!!!  Happy September!  Summer is officially behind us (sniff, sniff) and Fall is right around the bend!  That means the holidays are getting close and business will be BOOMING!  This is a great month to start reminding your friends and family that they can get a head-start on their holiday shopping.  It is also a great time to get in on vendor events.  Check your local publications, call your Chamber of Commerce, local churches, schools, etc. to find out about holiday boutiques where you might be able to host a booth.  Don't forget to schedule  your own social this month, too!

Need some guidance or direction?  Schedule a coaching call with me!  Send me a message and we will get one scheduled-- I am here to help you with whatever is on your mind.

Ready to build a team?  Think of five people you want to share with and call them up!  Let them know you are building a team and you thought of them!  Share the Opportunity Brochure with them over a cup of coffee or on a play date at the park with your kids.  When someone mentions they like your locket when you're out shopping, let them know you help people build their own business selling these (rather than just saying "I sell these.")  Always have your business card ready to hand out!

If you have a Facebook business page, be sure and post at least once a day.  This will keep your reach count up.  Post a locket photo, a pleasant quote, or ask a question to engage your fans.  It doesn't always have to be about lockets-- let people see you are a real person!  Always keep it uplifting and positive!

WoW!





I am so amazed by your drive and perseverance!   You have all taken this new experience head-on and are venturing out of your comfort zone, hosting socials and Facebook parties, taking on vendor events, building successful businesses for yourselves! 

You are bringing August to a strong close!  Let's keep that momentum going!  And it's a good time to start looking ahead to next month and set some goals.  How many socials do you plan to book?  Will you host one yourself either online or in person?  How will you share South Hill Designs with others and start building your own team?  Are you attending the Conference in Arizona?  I hope you can, but if it just isn't possible let's start thinking about next year!!!  Let's make a team goal to meet at conference next Fall!

August Incentive

Hey Team!  We're about halfway through August and it looks like another great month in sales for our team!!!

Time for a little incentive to set up those socials and get those orders in!  Anyone on my team who has $400 in sales for August will receive a beautiful South Hill Designs tumbler!






Don't forget to wear your locket out and about, talk to your friends and family about hosting socials, and set one up where you're the hostess either online, at home, or in a coffee shop!

I know your first few socials can be a little stressful-- you aren't quite sure exactly what to do, right?  Just remind yourself to relax and have fun.  You will definitely want a credit card swiper (I recommend either the Paypal Here or the Square) so you can take credit card payments.  Other than that, just fill out the order forms and enter them later, after the social.  Prior to entering your first social, please watch the video in the Back Office-- it will walk you through step by step.  And of course if you have any problems, please call me and I will help you through it! After you get your first one behind you, you see how much fun they really are and you will look forward to the next one!

Building Your Business

Ok, we are all here because we want to have a successful business, right?  So let's talk about how to build our business and make as much commission as possible!  If you have thoughts, ideas to add, or questions, please leave a comment!

1.  Full Calendar:  Decide at the beginning of each month how many socials you will do that month.  Make it your goal to get that many socials booked ASAP.  The first booking should be your own!  Hosting a social a month yourself is a great way to ensure sales and generate interest about South Hill Designs.  Plus, you are showing your friends how easy it is to host a social.  Don't go crazy!  Some cheese and crackers and lemonade will suffice for snacks!  If you want to go all out, go for it!  But it really isn't necessary.  You can also have a craft or scrap-booking activity going on.  Or cookie decorating if kids are coming!  This makes it fun and shows your guests that you aren't all about selling them stuff.

2. Share the Opportunity:  You should share the business opportunity with as many people as possible.  You don't have to be pushy.  Just by telling your friends about your business, how much fun you're having, how much commission you're making will spark some interest.  Let people know about the Opportunity Calls from Corp.  You can make money just selling lockets, but your income will increase a great deal if you start to build a team.  I made postcards through Vista Print with joining info on them.  I keep them in my purse and hand them out wherever I go.  I got 100 for around $10 with a coupon.  They have deals ALL the time-- just set up a free account with them and you will receive their coupons via email.  I like the postcards better than the brochures because they display so many different ideas for beautiful lockets.  This makes it very clear to a potential team member exactly what we do!

3.  Wear your locket:  This should be #1!!!  You should wear your locket wherever you go!  People WILL ask you about it!  You get to advertise your product all the time!  People who sell candles or body wraps can't do that-- we are at an advantage in the jewelry business!

4.  Be patient:  Growing your business is going to take time.  It's not going to happen overnight or without some effort on your part.  You will get out what you put in!  Set aside some time every day to focus on your SHD business.  Return emails or make contact with people who might be interested in hosting a social.  (Offering a free gift for booking helps!)  Plan your monthly social.  Post on your FB business page.  Call your last hostess and her guests and thank them for attending.  Ask if they need anything else.

You are part of an amazing experience with South Hill Designs!  It may not seem like it yet, but imagine where you will be in a year if you keep growing this ground floor opportunity!  Imagine how many team members you will have!  Use positive talk and tell yourself you are a success and YOU WILL BE!!!

Work your business this summer and momentum will take over this Fall!

Share! Share the business opportunity with everyone! Be sure to wear your locket(s) everywhere and bring along literature everywhere you go! Strike up conversations and be sure to ask for referrals!

Theme Socials! Offer easy, fast, fun theme parties on the go! Summer can be challenging, however everyone can picture their friends having summer fun with South Hill Designs!

Shows on the Go! Bring your jewelry everywhere! Be spontaneous and host an office party over lunch or right after work. Driving by a nice salon? Do a U-turn, go in, and share! You can even call your local salons and ask them if they would like to partner with you for a fundraiser.

Host Your Own Social! Be spontaneous and invite 5 friends over for some snacks and fun or host a social on the 3rd Thursday of every month! It may start out slow, but by the holidays, the news will spread and everyone will be coming and inviting their friends! Create a different theme each month and be sure that your friends are letting everyone know!

Book Vendor Events and Fundraisers! We are so blessed that we can sell at events! Events are everywhere and they produce sales, socials and sponsors! This is such a great way to grow your business, especially in the dog days of Summer.

Create Online Socials! We have tools in place that will assist you in hosting online socials! Be sure to watch the Facebook Event and Social Dashboard webinars in your back office and host an online social! Remember, always offer online events for all of your live socials and watch your sales, host rewards and paycheck grow! Remember, when having an online social, we have an incredible opportunity to share the benefit of both hosting your own social or joining SHD as an Artist! Be sure to always follow up your event by thanking everyone that attended and invite them to contact you with any questions about hosting or joining SHD!

Hints & Tips for Your Business:
*When you are at your Socials, be sure to let the guests know that you are looking for more Artists in their area and that you are able to set up interviews. Invite them to refer any friends and family who may need another job or something fun in their life. Be sure to SHARE YOUR SHD STORY! Your story may touch someone that normally wouldn't consider Direct sales.

*Always set up your display close to the food and beverages! It is where everyone gathers, so you don't want to be in a separate room all by yourself.

 *Bring pictures of Locket ideas in a photo book to your Socials and events so your guests can get their creative juices flowing! The ideas will help those who need help with creating a locket for themselves and their loved ones.

South Hill Designs National Conference

It's coming up!  Did you get your invitation?  Here's the link: SHD Conference

It will be held in Phoenix on September 20-21.  Even if right now you're thinking it's not doable, please keep it in mind.  You can always decide later to go!  It will be a great opportunity to meet everyone in person, learn about the company, and get super motivated!  If you can't go, I will post updates from the conference so you can be "virtually there", how's that?  :)

Does anyone have any socials, online socials,  or vendor events coming up?  Post your news in the comments section! 

A few ideas I want to share with you:

1.  It's a good idea to get yourself a planner just for SHD to keep track of your events.  I got one at Target with the gray chevron print SHD uses for 7.99.

NEVER show a potential hostess an empty calendar!  Successful people are busy people, so keep your calendar full and offer one or two dates for booking a social.  Never say "I'm free all week!"  for example.  Instead say, "I have the 17th and the 14th open."  (Say the sooner date last and they will almost always select the sooner date!) 

2.  Sometimes people don't book socials because they do not want to go to the trouble of getting food and stuff for their party.  When someone books a social at one of my socials I always offer them my "Party in a Bag!"


Inside there is a box of brownie mix and some packets of drink mix.  Just add water!  :)  Not everyone wants the party in a bag, but it's a no-excuse option for some!

Rockin' South Hill Designs!



Welcome to the Team Flutterly Charming blog!  This will be a way we can all communicate with one another since not everyone uses social media.  If you sign up a new member, please email them the link and ask them to follow the blog, too. 

Our team is getting started and has hit the ground running!  Thank you so much for your hard work-- I hope you are having fun with your new business!  I have been with SHD since March and I am amazed each month by the growth I see all around me!  This company is growing so fast-- it's so exciting to be part of it and to look down the road a year or two and imagine where we will all be!!!  (Hopefully on a beach in Fiji with a pina colada!)

You are more than welcome to use this blog as a way to ask questions and share information.  I will make every effort to keep it up to date with the important messages from Corp.  Let's start by leaving a short comment and just introduce yourself, where you're from, and one goal you have for your new business. 

I am also working on a cute blog design-- because let's face it, it needs to be cute.  :)
