Checking In!

Hello Wonderful Team!

I just wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing this month!  We are at the halfway point!  I know everyone is doing as much as they can and I just want to let you know I am here for any support you may need.

One great way to line up some vendor events is to call local churches and ask about their holiday fairs!  Most churches have some sort of craft fair this time of year.  Ten minutes on the phone can get you several events!  Try schools as well!

Spooky Notes for October!



Can you believe October is upon us?  September was a GREAT month!  Our Team sales were good and Conference was AMAZING!!!  I know next year will be even more incredible with many more artists attending!  Seriously, if you can set aside about $50 of your commission every month it will cover your Conference registration and flight.  Keep it in your Payquicker account and pretend it's not there!  Plus, you can write off those expenses on your taxes, so going to Conference is win-win!  DO IT!!!!!  I got SO much out of it.  It was more than a new product release.  It was a learning experience.  It was a soul-searching experience.  I came away understanding myself and the business and company so much more.  So really, make up your mind to go next year and go!  (Stepping off soap box now...)

Ok, October!~  Basically, there are 2 months until Christmas and less until Hanukkah!  That is a MAJOR selling point right now with both customers and potential recruits!  When you talk to people about SHD or post about joining your team, be sure and mention the approaching holidays and the potential for extra cash flow when they join.  Also, share the new products with enthusiasm!  I have a strong feeling our sales are going to be through the roof these next 10 weeks!!!

So, for our Team Incentive for October, anyone on my team with sales this month of $1000 or more will receive the new locket bracelet when it is released!

Fall Into Fun!

Wow!  September is flying by so fast!  I don't know about you, but it has been a crazy-busy month for me with school starting.  Of course for me my kids being back in school does not exactly free me up since I am a teacher.  <sigh>  BUT my business is still a major priority so I wanted to remind everyone of our September Hostess Special!



For my personal socials this month and next I am going to use the theme "Fall Into Fun"!  I am thinking of serving apple cider and spice muffins.  It's a good time to remind people that the holidays are approaching and now is the time to order their lockets for gifts!  You can even offer a free Christmas tree charm with a $50 purchase or something to that effect.  Or "buy 4 charms, get the 5th charm free".  These are great strategies for increasing your sales.  They cost you around $4 but gain you much more than that in commission from locket purchases.  

It is also a great time of year to recruit new team members, letting them know they can increase their income/holiday spending money by starting their business now!  It can take a little time to get a team started, so be patient and share your business as often as possible.

I am attending the South Hill Designs Conference in Phoenix later this week!  I am so excited to meet everyone in person and see the wonderful surprises the company has in store for us!  For those who cannot attend, I promise to keep you updated about the new products and announcements!  Again, next year let's ALL meet there!!!  (Wherever it may be!)

Let's Take September!






Woohoo!!!  Happy September!  Summer is officially behind us (sniff, sniff) and Fall is right around the bend!  That means the holidays are getting close and business will be BOOMING!  This is a great month to start reminding your friends and family that they can get a head-start on their holiday shopping.  It is also a great time to get in on vendor events.  Check your local publications, call your Chamber of Commerce, local churches, schools, etc. to find out about holiday boutiques where you might be able to host a booth.  Don't forget to schedule  your own social this month, too!

Need some guidance or direction?  Schedule a coaching call with me!  Send me a message and we will get one scheduled-- I am here to help you with whatever is on your mind.

Ready to build a team?  Think of five people you want to share with and call them up!  Let them know you are building a team and you thought of them!  Share the Opportunity Brochure with them over a cup of coffee or on a play date at the park with your kids.  When someone mentions they like your locket when you're out shopping, let them know you help people build their own business selling these (rather than just saying "I sell these.")  Always have your business card ready to hand out!

If you have a Facebook business page, be sure and post at least once a day.  This will keep your reach count up.  Post a locket photo, a pleasant quote, or ask a question to engage your fans.  It doesn't always have to be about lockets-- let people see you are a real person!  Always keep it uplifting and positive!

WoW!





I am so amazed by your drive and perseverance!   You have all taken this new experience head-on and are venturing out of your comfort zone, hosting socials and Facebook parties, taking on vendor events, building successful businesses for yourselves! 

You are bringing August to a strong close!  Let's keep that momentum going!  And it's a good time to start looking ahead to next month and set some goals.  How many socials do you plan to book?  Will you host one yourself either online or in person?  How will you share South Hill Designs with others and start building your own team?  Are you attending the Conference in Arizona?  I hope you can, but if it just isn't possible let's start thinking about next year!!!  Let's make a team goal to meet at conference next Fall!

August Incentive

Hey Team!  We're about halfway through August and it looks like another great month in sales for our team!!!

Time for a little incentive to set up those socials and get those orders in!  Anyone on my team who has $400 in sales for August will receive a beautiful South Hill Designs tumbler!






Don't forget to wear your locket out and about, talk to your friends and family about hosting socials, and set one up where you're the hostess either online, at home, or in a coffee shop!

I know your first few socials can be a little stressful-- you aren't quite sure exactly what to do, right?  Just remind yourself to relax and have fun.  You will definitely want a credit card swiper (I recommend either the Paypal Here or the Square) so you can take credit card payments.  Other than that, just fill out the order forms and enter them later, after the social.  Prior to entering your first social, please watch the video in the Back Office-- it will walk you through step by step.  And of course if you have any problems, please call me and I will help you through it! After you get your first one behind you, you see how much fun they really are and you will look forward to the next one!

Building Your Business

Ok, we are all here because we want to have a successful business, right?  So let's talk about how to build our business and make as much commission as possible!  If you have thoughts, ideas to add, or questions, please leave a comment!

1.  Full Calendar:  Decide at the beginning of each month how many socials you will do that month.  Make it your goal to get that many socials booked ASAP.  The first booking should be your own!  Hosting a social a month yourself is a great way to ensure sales and generate interest about South Hill Designs.  Plus, you are showing your friends how easy it is to host a social.  Don't go crazy!  Some cheese and crackers and lemonade will suffice for snacks!  If you want to go all out, go for it!  But it really isn't necessary.  You can also have a craft or scrap-booking activity going on.  Or cookie decorating if kids are coming!  This makes it fun and shows your guests that you aren't all about selling them stuff.

2. Share the Opportunity:  You should share the business opportunity with as many people as possible.  You don't have to be pushy.  Just by telling your friends about your business, how much fun you're having, how much commission you're making will spark some interest.  Let people know about the Opportunity Calls from Corp.  You can make money just selling lockets, but your income will increase a great deal if you start to build a team.  I made postcards through Vista Print with joining info on them.  I keep them in my purse and hand them out wherever I go.  I got 100 for around $10 with a coupon.  They have deals ALL the time-- just set up a free account with them and you will receive their coupons via email.  I like the postcards better than the brochures because they display so many different ideas for beautiful lockets.  This makes it very clear to a potential team member exactly what we do!

3.  Wear your locket:  This should be #1!!!  You should wear your locket wherever you go!  People WILL ask you about it!  You get to advertise your product all the time!  People who sell candles or body wraps can't do that-- we are at an advantage in the jewelry business!

4.  Be patient:  Growing your business is going to take time.  It's not going to happen overnight or without some effort on your part.  You will get out what you put in!  Set aside some time every day to focus on your SHD business.  Return emails or make contact with people who might be interested in hosting a social.  (Offering a free gift for booking helps!)  Plan your monthly social.  Post on your FB business page.  Call your last hostess and her guests and thank them for attending.  Ask if they need anything else.

You are part of an amazing experience with South Hill Designs!  It may not seem like it yet, but imagine where you will be in a year if you keep growing this ground floor opportunity!  Imagine how many team members you will have!  Use positive talk and tell yourself you are a success and YOU WILL BE!!!
